david gilmour, rome 2024, triple vinyl gatefold sleeve.

design folio

inspired by the title 'marooned at the circus' i had the idea of things being where they could not be.
the style is inspired by the hipgnosis covers of the 1970s who designed many of pink floyd's album covers.
predominantly made using stock images with additional photography by me, composited in photoshop and nuke.

the david gilmour logo uses the typeface 'berlin' with masks cutting parts of each letter, simply using the typeface
did not give enough impact. this kind of text masking was also used on the final pink floyd album 'endless river'
.

final artwork with client revisions.

one of the original ideas for the front cover was reused as the left outer panel as the client did not like the crow image (see below).
all photography and manipulation was done by me for this image. the central object is mirrored from a building under construction.
the landscape and clouds are inspired by the 'wish you were here' inner sleeve, are a collage of photographs in the english countryside.

inner sleeve design, used without revisions.

original outer sleeve design.

final labels with client revisions, two alternate designs given for disc c label.

unused label designs due to changes in the outer cover.
